Introduction

Webmail lets you check your email from the browser without configuring Outlook, Thunderbird, or your phone. In cPanel you can log in the general way, or load the URL of your preferred webmail client directly.

General webmail access

The simplest way to log in is:

  1. Go to domain.com/webmail, replacing domain.com with your actual domain.
  2. Enter your full email account (for example info@yourdomain.com) and its password.
  3. Choose the webmail client shown, if the panel offers more than one.

Direct access to each webmail client

If you’d rather load the URL of your chosen client directly, first log in to webmail via domain.com/webmail, sign in with your account, and note the URL shown in the browser once you’re inside the client. In general, they’ll look like these:

  1. For Roundcube: https://yourdomain.com:2095/3rdparty/roundcube/index.php
  2. For Horde: https://yourdomain.com:2095/horde/login.php
  3. For Squirrelmail: https://yourdomain.com:2095/3rdparty/squirrelmail/src/login.php

Remember: replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.

How to create a shortcut with your own subdomain

Once you have the URL for your preferred client, you can set up a quick, easy shortcut:

  1. Log in to your control panel.
  2. Go to the Subdomains section.
  3. Create whichever subdomain you prefer, for example mywebmail.yourdomain.com.
  4. Add a redirect on that subdomain pointing to the URL you got in the previous step.

With this, you’ll have your own direct shortcut to your favorite webmail client.

Note: when creating the subdomain, don’t use mail.yourdomain.com, since that subdomain already exists by default and creating it again could cause problems.

About Horde, SquirrelMail, and Roundcube

SquirrelMail is no longer part of the standard cPanel installation, so it’s not always possible to log in to it if your hosting uses cPanel. If you want to use it, you’ll need to install it yourself within your hosting account — perfectly possible, but not recommended, since the project hasn’t been updated in years. If you have trouble installing it, open a ticket with our technicians.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use webmail from anywhere?

Yes, as long as you have an internet connection and the email account is active.

Does webmail replace Outlook?

Not necessarily. Webmail is a way to check your email from the browser; you can use it alongside Outlook, Thunderbird, or your phone.

Do I need to log in to cPanel first?

No. You can access webmail directly with the email account and its password, without going through cPanel.

Conclusion

To access webmail, use domain.com/webmail with your full account and password, or load the URL of your preferred client directly. For a quicker shortcut, create your own subdomain with a redirect to that URL.
