Your hard drive,
but in the cloud.
Connect it like it's on your desktop.
Upload and download files via FTP, FTPS, SFTP or SCP, or mount your space as an extra network drive. Backups, large files and safety copies, without depending on physical hardware that can fail at any time.
From €7.90/month · Unlimited traffic · No minimum term
Does this sound familiar?
Your backup drive is full, or worse, starting to fail
- The physical drive where you keep your backups is about to fill up, or already showing signs of failure.
- You need to send a heavy file to a client and email refuses to attach it.
- Your current cloud backup provider overcharges every time you upload or download data.
- You want to automate backups, but setting up and maintaining your own FTP server eats time you don't have.
There's a way to solve it
A remote hard drive already set up, with RAID and automatic snapshots, that you mount as another drive on your computer or server — without installing or maintaining anything yourself.

Not sure which plan you need?
For occasional backups or a first extra drive, start with 1 TB. If you back up full servers, 5 TB is what most of our customers choose. For agencies with several projects or long-term archiving, 10 TB or 20 TB give you the room you need.
Talk to a technician before choosing →Included in every plan
A hard drive built to connect from anywhere
Multiple access protocols
FTP, FTPS, SFTP, SCP, rsync over SSH, WebDAV and Samba/CIFS. Use the client you already know, no need to learn anything new.
Mount it as a network drive
On Windows, Mac or Linux. Drag and drop files as if it were another drive plugged into your computer.
Automatic snapshots
Scheduled point-in-time copies of your space, so you can recover a previous version if you delete or overwrite something by mistake.
RAID with integrity checksums
Configuration able to withstand several simultaneous physical disk failures, with bit error detection and correction.
Limited-access sub-accounts
Give a collaborator or client access to one specific folder, without sharing your main username and password.
Unlimited traffic
Upload and download everything you need within your contracted space, with no excess-traffic charges.
Physical drive or online hard drive?

Getting started
Your online hard drive, ready in 3 steps
Choose your plan
1, 5, 10 or 20 TB, based on your real backup or file volume. If you're not sure, a technician can help you choose.
Receive your credentials
Server, username and FTP/SFTP password in your inbox, ready to use within minutes.
Mount it and start uploading
As a network drive or with your favorite FTP client. No extra software to install on the server.
Is the online hard drive for you?
Perfect if…
- You run periodic backups of servers, databases or work computers
- You need to share or store large files that don't fit in an email
- You want to automate backups with BorgBackup, Restic or rsync from the command line
- You're looking for extra space without depending on physical hardware that can fail
- You manage files for several clients and need independent sub-accounts
You might prefer another service if…
- Your team needs to collaborate on documents with a web interface, like Google Drive
- It's your application that will read and write the data, not a person

Everything you need to know before you sign up
How many simultaneous connections does my online hard drive support?
Up to 10 simultaneous connections on every plan. If that limit is exceeded, new connections may fail to establish until one of the active ones is closed.
Does RAID replace a backup?
No. RAID protects against physical disk failures, but it doesn't prevent human error, accidental deletions or overwrites. We recommend keeping additional copies of your most important data.
Can I mount it as a network drive on my computer?
Yes. You can mount your space as a network drive on Windows, Mac or Linux via SMB/CIFS or WebDAV, in addition to accessing it via FTP, FTPS, SFTP or SCP with any compatible client.
What access protocols does it support?
FTP, FTPS, SFTP, SCP, rsync over SSH, WebDAV, Samba/CIFS, and compatibility with BorgBackup and Restic for scheduled backups.
Can I give someone access without sharing my password?
Yes, through sub-accounts. Each sub-account has its own username and can be limited to a specific subdirectory, so you never need to share your main credentials.
What happens if I need more space than I contracted?
You upgrade your plan in minutes, with no data loss or downtime. The change is immediate and requires no manual migration.
Is there any directory I can't create?
For technical and security reasons, you can't create /etc or /lib directories at the root of your online hard drive. The rest of the folder structure is completely free.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit and debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, bank transfer and Bitcoin. All transactions are encrypted with 256-bit SSL. See all payment methods →
RAID + snapshots · Unlimited traffic · No minimum term
Stop risking losing your backups
A ready-to-use remote hard drive, with protection a physical disk will never give you. Choose your plan or talk to a technician first.
miHosting's online hard drive works like another physical drive, but accessible from anywhere: mounted as a network drive on Windows, Mac or Linux, or via FTP, FTPS, SFTP and SCP with the client you already know. Built for backups, large files and safety copies, without depending on hardware that can break or run out of space.
Every plan includes RAID protection with integrity checksums, able to withstand several simultaneous disk failures, and automatic snapshots to recover previous versions if you delete or overwrite something by mistake. RAID protects against hardware failures, but it doesn't replace an independent backup of your most important data.
If you automate backups from the command line, the online hard drive is compatible with BorgBackup, Restic and rsync over SSH, and also supports up to 10 simultaneous connections and sub-accounts to give collaborators access without sharing your main password.
Available in four sizes — 1, 5, 10 and 20 TB — with unlimited traffic and no minimum term. If your project grows, you upgrade in minutes with no manual migration.
